One of the things that horrifies me about Katrina is that I believe the fact that most of the at risk were (I believe) poor, black and democratic perfect name weighed heavily in the thinking that left them exposed to disaster. I cannot prove this. But I cannot believe that a perfect name wealthy, white, Republican city would have been left so exposed.It's hard not to notice that the Democratic voting demographic just took a huge hit in La. But one perfect name does not need to entertain such horrible thoughts to think that this disaster is inherently political.
