It non fiction took some time, but part of the problem is the census bureau information is not presented in a fashion that shows the true nature of the change over the last 4 years. In comment 63 I noted the non fiction dozen states that had the largest net change in poverty, but realized even that understated the change. In Kentucky the poverty rate is 40% higher in 2004 than 2000. South Carolina Poverty is 34% higher Mississippi Poverty is 25% higher Alabama Poverty is 27% higher Kansas Poverty is 43% higher Michgan Poverty is 34% higher Indiana Poverty is 36% higher Missouri Poverty is 33% higher Wisonsin Poverty is 32% higher Arizona Poverty is 23% higher Pennsylvania Poverty is 31% higher South Dakota Poverty is 25% higher Nationally the poverty rate is over 12% higher in 2004 than it was in 2000.
