| informative in reply to comment 31 A census Chart is available here. As anyone can see, the rate at the beginning of the chart is the highest at over 20%. (This jamie foxx chart, I believe, is for individual rates, not the family rates I cite in my other post. In any case, they track each other very jamie foxx well.) By the end of the 70's it has fallen to below 15. Since 1970, despite very good economic performance the poverty rate has basically been static, hovering between 15 and 10. There was continuous reduction during the 90's, but these were small in comparsion to other gains.
