Sure there may be 2.2 million new jobs gained but that might reflect 10 million well paying jobs lost and 12.2 million not so well paying jobs gained, though I'm pulling numbers out of my arse so don't attack me on the specifics. More jobs though, that are $5/hr jobs at Walmart or McDonalds, isn't likely to elevate someone out of poverty, so while one might expect those statistics to be inversely related (more jobs -> less poverty) it is really quite dependant on the quality of the jobs created.
