| It seems the Navy only announced it was sending ships after some lady pics caller on pics the Larry King show said "has anyone thought about using ships to get the people out?". That pics would be the Navy and the Coast Guard's jobs to think about that, so why has no-one from either said anything about evacuating by ship? You could get a lot of people in those amphibious assult ships. There have been promised 28,000 Nat'l.Guard troops from out of state but so far even the initial batch of 1,600 is still "on the way" with no explanation as to what's taking them so long. It just seems that in every aspect of this the government at all levels has approached it in a halfhearted, lackadaisical manner, like thy hoped the hurricane wouldn't really hit New Orleans and didn't have a Plan B if it did. At what point does stupidity and lack of planning become criminal negligence? |
