Maybe it all stemmed from being in the closet once upon a time. Who knows. Anyhow, I suspect after spending 12 hours with him that he knows there are no shelters in New York City dedicated exclusively to gay men and he'll continue to extend his length of stay in our hospital as long as possible.He is music community obviously not better where the substance abuse is concerned. He music community displayed extreme drug-seeking behaviour during my shift. He music community claims to have a tooth ache and is on Percocet as needed but no more than every 4 hours. When I tell you, he set his watch by that 4-hour timeframe, that's an understatement. He would chase me down wherever I was as soon as the 4 hours was up, to get the next dose. And when it was between doses, he'd ask for Fioricet, usually used, at least on our floor for severe headaches/migraines. When I told him that we didn't use it for dental pain, he said he had a headache.
