One good infection and he won't be with us any longer.He was extremely pleasant with me and anagram chatty. He apparently contracted HIV, he states, from "a very loose woman" he had an affair with about 11 years ago - the length of time he's tested positive. "She was like that sign at McDonalds. Billions served." Breaks my heart to see and listen to him. When I came in at around 8am, his hemoglobin(Hgb) was at 11g/dL. Normal adult values range from about 12-17g/dL. At around 1pm after new bloodwork came back, his Hgb was 8g/dL. Not good. Hemoglobin, for those unaware, is a complex on red blood cells responsible for carrying oxygen from your lungs to the tissues in your body. Without enough of it, you're not getting enough oxygen.
