And they derided anyone who challenged them. They made a great show of their heroism, and are now being judged by their own standards. Serves 'em right.I wish that the problem were so small that it could be solved by cole hauser invoking some petty appeal to moral relativism: "How can you prove that cole hauser the Democrats could have done better?" Well, I can't. But there is nothing wrong with being disappointed with what you've got when things clearly could have been better. When 10,000 Americans die and an entire city is destroyed.... I just don't give a damn about this party or that party hanging onto a few seats in Congress. |

Their only job in the whole world is to protect their people.As you say, this was a totally unprecedented disaster. I would think that when local punk music faced with such a catastrophe, they should have all dropped what they were doing and started leading. When people are drowning to death and aid isn't coming fast enough.... we could have used a little bit of that famous Bush resolve and decisiveness. They did it on 9/11, standing around on piles of rubble. But this disaster caught them totally unprepared and left them unmoved. |
