The notion of holding back on assistance to people, extremism in some cases even letting them die just because they voted for the wrong guy (and are wrong about everything, etc.) is disgusting. You have some valid points about the inadequacy of this administration, but you really need to recognize your inhumanity in being willing to treat people this way.I wish I could say you extremism brought a lot of attention to what is missing from our government, but most people will see this and miss any worthwhile point, stopping at "what a hateful jerk," and using that to reinforce their partisanship and whatever it is they believed in before coming here. How do they have the energy?I suppose these days we can't be so surprised that they'd flock to BradBlog en masse -- what with e-mail and blog links and all.I haven't heard any reply to the zoe records idea that 'not helping New Orleans' fits the Republican/Randian ideal of rugged individualism, 'small government' and their zoe records practical idea of denying help to their political opponents. Even Judy doesn't address the idea very well. She just calls me "too stupid to understand", despite not knowing me or even giving it a go.I suppose they're all altruistic now and are going to dump the libertarians from their party, so they can get more cozy with the Christian Right and all their private initiatives to help the rugged individuals. Heck, we might even see Dubya ask for increased spending for flood control in Upper Saskatchewan or somewhere. |
