Overall, I feel like the GOP has adopted a pop "Christian-style" as a marketing tool... And leaders use Christian language to reassure us that even though what they are doing looks bad, they are thinking about Jesus while they do it (But I wonder what exactly they do think of Jesus). I hear many of them are "Objectivists" who believe that altruism is evil. Of course the Pope can make mistakes, but this is why it is prudent to double and triple check (ask some of the nuns, look at my catechism, read lots of articles).
