It seems that I have personal essays given our personal essays leaders enough slack. And if the war doesn't square with rudimentary notions of morality and doesn't stack up personal essays to the moral code of the larger community... then you know that it is a really bad idea. I wish it were moral... there are lots of people... some of them my friends... who are over there... and they are all getting their hands dirty because of someone else's crackpot idea. I'm not gonna tell them that I think they are sinning by being over there, because they tell me that it's about oil in spite of the best intentions of the troops on the ground. I'm ashamed that our own president would put them through such a moral conundrum, send them away from their families, harm their bodies, and pollute their minds with the memories of war.
