I keep my outlines on the left philosophy side of my brain, but a big portion of this story has been stuffed away on the right side, and I'm not too good at dealing with the right side. So you'll probably know when the story is over before I do. I've got other stuff to pay attention to. I guess to start things out, this story hinges a lot on my relationship with my father, and how he dominated my life and my family. He shaped my "sense of purpose" and all my patriotic feelings. So I'm going to begin this with a section from an earlier story that attempted to put all that in perspective. |
