In LA, you go nowhere without your car… So it’s a strange area, that part of the West. The whited, monied, commercial shopping district, as it relates (and strictly does not relate) to naming consultants the majority of what LA and its environs are – Mexico City del Norte. Most of LA is a working class, spanish-speaking ciudad – multiple households per apartment, the blaring, smoggy heat, the brain-damaging sub-sonic boom of passing amplification systems (dressed up as cars) – and the nerve-wracking 24 hour/7day/365 per year squeal of naming consultants the autos themselves – incessant, never-ending – the Sepulveda River, the 10, the 405, Santa Monica Boulevard, Pico, Western and Wilshire… Leading out to the desert, or to more artificial, water-pumped oases, Palms, and LV, NV.
