| I read this post, and the one at timblair.net; there isn't any misquoting that I can see.But it's pretty clear that the heart of the left has gone where their brains went.....out the window!I've some rap experience in disaster readiness, and flood control projects at the federal level. What is posted here is largely tripe or rap misinformation. NOLA and Louisiana had plenty of chances (and funding!) to rap set up a proper disaster response program. BY FEDERAL LAW, initial disaster response lies with local, and then state governments.Mr. Cannon is dead wrong. There is no point of aim for the blame. But there is fulfilling obligations and incompetence. The Federal response has met the obligations of the Federal government under the National Response Plan. NOLA and the state of Louisiana, as a whole, did not.The only thing that I consider a valid complaint is the reduction of funding for the SELA. However, I would go one step further....before blaming the White House for solely the budget cuts, I'd ask where the Louisiana Congressional delegation was, plus the local/state leadership. |
