with nothing to do heat katherine randolph and boredom take their toll on them.The movie avoids any political statements and instead effectively shows that our troops must endure more hardships than enemy fire.Vividly directed by Sam Mendes with often a great sense of dark humor and irony.(There's a great scene that contrasts travel in Apocalypse Now with travel in modern warfare).Not really a "war" picture but more of a riveting katherine randolph psychological drama and even though it's short on action it's an extremely good film.
