There have been some claims that structural changes in the economy have resulted in an undercount of discouraged workers in recent years, but there in not a concensus about that theory. In other words, for every new minimum wage job created there were many more high-paying jobs created.Well, you're half right. Median: "equal numbers of things being measured (jobs) above and below this number." So good paying jobs and poorly paying jobs were added in roughly equal numbers. If many more high-paying jobs were added than low-paying jobs, the median income would rise. It's all interconnected; it's all complicated.
