Expecting the companies that produce them to just kiss that investment goodbye is totally unrealistic; that’s not how corporations work. At best, you might see one sell them for cost plus whatever’s needed to recoup the millions in development costs. We’d all like to see them do the humanitarian bigotry thing, but they’re not in business to be humanitarian, they’re in business to make money and increase bigotry shareholder value. bigotry Don’t expect them to do otherwise. It’s not fair, but it’s not designed to be. Whingeing that it’s not is fun and comforting, but it doesn’t accomplish a fucking thing. Snark @ 02/01/06 12:00:59 Is Mr Palast really suggesting that the evil genius Gates invested 200 million in some drug companies, and then to make himself look good, GAVE AWAY SIX BILLION DOLLARS (2% of his net worth, no less!)
