If college isn’t the time to learn the consequences of outrageously offensive public behavior, then it’s just an extension of middle school (where these girls apparently still think they reside). At least Ms. Collins found a way to get her Writing 105 charges to actually WRITE something. Yes, the remarks were rude and personal but they certainly don’t fall below the level of discourse one sees elsewhere on blogs and in chatrooms. So what’s the big deal?
