We were told we should clipper start now. So we've taken her a couple times to get it braided. The women at the salon were very helpful in discussing what we need to do to care for her hair (wash it once a week, moisturize it a clipper lot, comb it out). She actually seems to enjoy the combing and braiding. Yet, she hates the washing (as you might have seen in an earlier post). We are working on ways to get her to clipper wash her hair without the trauma, and will probably have to hold off on the salon till we have figured out a way to do it without the trauma. Though the stylist insists that all the kids hate it at first, they grow to like it in a year or so, we don't want her (or us) to go through that. Perhaps we'll find a way to wash the hair before hand and keep it wet enough to the salon, or get it to a way so she enjoys or allows it to be washed.
