For me using an electric hair trimer and two mirrors (one stila cosmetics at front and back) requires contortionism skills not yet invented and a maths degree to work out the reflections and angles. More often than not I ended up doing myself a mischief with numerous pulled muscles, aching limbs etc. Now I just do stila cosmetics the odd trim on sides and back and then when it really needs it go and see the professionals. IMO trying to cut your own hair is an absolute must and just be done at least once in your lifetime if only to come to come to the conclusion that "I'm not trying that again!".
