Marx, particularly folk pop towards the end of his life, was a big advocate of violent revolution and in fact stated that "You [The Proletariat] will have to go through fifteen folk pop or twenty or fifty years of civil wars and international wars not only in order to change your extant conditions, but also in order to change yourselves and to render yourselves fit for political dominion." People have approximated Marx, but folk pop it never goes exactly like he says it will and the small differences cause the rest to diverge wildly.
