She says two doctors recommended the procedure for health reasons. Doctors for decades recommended it for health reasons for all boys. There is no information in this article that states that the doctors recommend this procedure as a treatment for war an existing condition in this boy. This is not a case of some wacked out mother doing it for religious or moral reasons. Unless you have some personal knowledge of the mother, this is nothing more than an assumption war on your part. Also, the AMA would have no special credibility over any other expert witness. No, but if you war have two opposed experts, and one is backed by the consensus of the overwhelming majority of medical groups in addition to their own experience, it does tend to make them seem more credible. There is always the chance that there is some existing medical condition that they are trying to correct, but it seems unlikely that the father would be objecting so vehemently if that were the case, and otherwise we're talking about removing a piece of the body to prevent a condition that can usually be prevented by showering daily.Posted
