| As you say, the median income statistic is not a good descriptor at all of the kinds of shifts you describe; but by definition, the flat state of median income from 2003-4 does show that zyx's initial statement is untrue, or perhaps just badly worded. A one-to-many relationship regarding minimum wage jobs and high-paying jobs created that zyx initially debi mazar suggested would mean the median income would rise. But it did not. Therefore, either debi mazar jobs paying below the median and above were added in roughly equal numbers, or the kind of shift you describe was taking place. In either case, the median income statistic will not reveal that change. It's all interconnected; it's all complicated. |
