No, all that proves is that socialists, just like libertarians of your persuasion, cannot understand the difference between normal civil society… and society during an emergency. Snide's examples of the fire department is entirely correct. The socialist think that because 'collective effort' was effective at winning a war against Nazi Germany (clearly a crisis situation), then it must be just as effective at 'winning the peace' (this was more or less the explicit slogan of the Labour Party in 1945). But that just shows that they cannot see the difference between a disagreement in a café over, say, whether Martin Heidegger was a twit or not...
