To the best of my knowledge, Joseph Cannon has never identified himself as Liberal or Democratic; even if he has done so, it still wouldn't mean that all Liberals or all Democrats are crazy. His post here reflects his opinion only; it doesn't reflect mine and clearly there are some other regular BRAD BLOG readers who are not in agreement with Joseph Cannon's point of view. |

[1] I have been in e-mail contact with Joseph Cannon regarding his intentions with this piece and he has told me that he did intend it to be taken literally, not as a metaphor or an allegory, as I had initially assumed. So my comments early in this thread, at #18 and #55, are way off base. Sorry about that. If I had realized that Mr. Cannon intended to be taken literally I would have been saying "sorry, Joseph, but I disagree with you about all this!" |
