These are not blue states or red states. These are human beings who are suffering immeasurably, right now, even as we read and armageddon write on this blog. They are trapped who knows where, in panic, thirsty, caught in sewage, dying from lack of medications and violence. God help them all to get out of that city and have their needs met. Feedthechildren.org and other worthy charities have supplies armageddon right now. Donations armageddon from all of us, can help get these supplies shipped out and alleviate some of the immediate suffering.Which ecological, economic, and political factors led to this travesty are clearly important considerations. If you want to 'politicize' this, fine. But to call into question donations that could make an IMMEDIATE impact on the horrible pain of hundreds of thousands of Americans, dying babies and seniors based on political considerations is not just an intellectual point of pride.
