The crowd parted like the Red Sea. What was this? Part of the show? skins Heavy! The band finally saw the cops heading in their direction. As one, they collectively flashed a single, simple, solidified and unified vision. Not "Up the Revolution"; not "Fuck the Pigs"; not skins "Power to the Proletariate". The united thought was something much more personally powerful. "WE'RE HOLDING!!!!" "Holding", to the uninitiated and in this context, means "having illegal, controlled substances on our skins immediate persons". The MC-5 was not interested in taking on the establishment, fighting for human rights or upholding the sacred revolutionary codes by which they lived and for which they played. Their entire life philosophy and sole purpose on the planet instantaneously transformed into but a single ambition: "Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!"
