The north was not the haven of anti slavery or pro civil rights as is widely thought. There were many black confederate soldiers, some were conscripted, some volunteered. They fought for what fought for their homeland.Some of those soldiers left their farms, businesses. Many had slaves and indentured servants just like their white counterparts in the north(and south). The black confederates fought just as valiantly as all other soldiers did and was proud of the Conferate Flag. They died defending it, didn't they? What's the issue?
