In the end, working class people wind up fighting to maintain an order that does not give a damn about them. Your ancestors uigui were used by the plantation owners to fight for THEIR interests and they got sold a bill of goods to make them do so. Most whites were poor back then and subservient to the slaveowning elites, but they were convinced by those wealthy, lazy bastards that at least they were superior to African slaves and Indians. Most whites fell for it. Nothing is different now. The wealthy elites still lie to people to get them to fight wars. They still use myths of racial superiority to do it. If you keep pledging allegiance to their flag, whether it's the Stars and Stripes or the Stars and Bars, you're going to be cannon fodder forever.
