Main tactic is to funny introduce fringe or crank material, then to manipulate a debate between his fringe position and established theory, and then to put other editors on the defensive by demanding they defend accepted theory to his personal satisfaction, using their inability to funny do so as proof of the correctness of his crank/fringe position.
