It's a sick thought to realize that most professed Christians voted for George W. Bush. There is nothing swearing in the Bible which teaches us to keep silent about evil or have a blind loyalty for our government. Yes, we should pray for our leaders and our nation. Yes, we should obey authority. However, it is also our duty as Americans and Christians to stand up against the evils and corruption which are plaguing our government. America faces corporate accountability before God for the murderous evil deeds of it's swearing government leaders. We are responsible as a nation swearing for the actions of our leaders. I wash my hands of Iraq's blood. America has commit murder! Then again, the American people have been mass murders ever since abortion was legalized. "Thou shalt not kill." -Exodus 20:13 God is the highest authority and we must obey God over men.
