Weddington High School does however have a very homogenous minority student body, with 96% of the student body being white, 2% black, 1% hispanic, and 1% other. Most students from Weddington are conservative, kind, come minority from good families, go to church, work hard, are preppy, and like to have a good time. ****The most important thing the northerners, minority or westerners, however do not realize is that a big majority of students here at Weddington are from the North or West! This is a new grouth area fllowing out of Charlotte and alot of northerners and westerners re-locate here. There is a good number from the south but a majority is from the North or West! People see racism and NC and link them together. You probably can't understand the "racism" of Weddington students because where you live thier really isn't much of a difference between whites and blacks. Much of the disipline problems at Weddington are caused by black students, hardly any blacks are in advanced classes, when a teenage pregnancy occurs it is often a black student, and when a very rare fight occurs it is often a black student. |
