In other words, sharing capital fails because of human greed. I agree with them wholeheartedly that this failure to take human nature into account is the main reason that Marxist ideas would never work.

As it is, there are a number of functioning, nominally capitalistic countries on earth college doing pretty damn well, both for their citizens college and, in aggregate (though to a lesser degree), for the rest of the world. Dang straight. Capitalism is the greatest engine for progress yet discovered, but it requires honest referees and a level playing field to work. Even Adam Smith recognized that the interests of capital and the interests of the nation (or the people, if you will) are not always in alignment.
